We’re on the lookout for a Business Manager - Khulisa to ensure accurate and timeous financial and management information is available to management to ensure that Khulisa activities in the region are in line with the objectives
As a Business Manager - Forestry Operations you will be responsible for:.
- Plan, reconcile, analyse and consolidate annual budgets and forecast for Khulisa ensuring cost efficiency.
- Assist in the consolidation of the Khulisa budget presentation for General Manager
- Monitor and report on monthly fixed costs against budget to achieve targets and ensure accountability, as well as identification of trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Verify forecasts and monthly financial schedules (Loan Book, Operating Statement) through TCS; AIMS, Forcelink and SAP reports to optimise delivery and curb loss. Total Sappi Business Income Statement including strategic projects
- Co-ordinate, consolidate and monitor Capex related to Khulisa implementation within limits and budget period to maintain standards and ensure progression.
- Annually and or when required update the Small Markets Softwood and Hardwood timber sales prices and APO in line with KZN Forests budget.
- Review and update KZN Forestry resources timber pricing schedule in conjunction with KZN Resources Manager Ensure Forestry Managers (Khulisa) reports are timeously submitted and compile monthly report
- Ensure Khulisa systems dashboard is operational and regularly updated
- Compile annual report for Khulisa reflecting all business activities (Timber Deliveries, Loan book analysis, advances paid per activity, grower profitability etc.)
- Preparation of month end schedules and checking monthly contribution reports.
- Month end sawlog checks and reports
- Prepare, review and monitor all PIP goals and verify monthly financial schedules
- Ensure monthly reports and analysis to KZN Resources Manager are timeously completed.
- Control and manage the RFPs on Ariba, TCS Activations and Correct Pricing approvals for KZN Forestry Resources.
- Prepare, review and monitor all PIP goals
- Assist the forestry manager in resolving any queries with regard to loan book queries
- Assess all new loans in terms of cash flow, peak indebtedness and financial risk
Conduct monthly and annual credit risk assessments on larger loan agreements
Monitor large Forestry Enterprise Development Agreements (FEDA) agreements in terms of contractual obligations
Checking and signing off of all job instructions and ensure that all requirements are met
Compile Management Committee (MANCO) papers for New Forestry Enterprise Development Agreements and Annual write-offs
Assist and review business plans for new agreements
Identify business opportunities and potential risks
Build and Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, support functions and growers
Control and manage Request For Permission (RFS) on Ariba
Implement and manage overall effective administrative systems for Khulisa
Lead & performance manage subordinates to attain objectives
Reconcile plants issued against hectares planted and trays issued against trays returned
Control and monitor the business asset register and perform regular audits
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor of Commerce and or B Compt. or Business management equivalent qualification.
- A National Diploma/bachelor’s degree in forestry/Agriculture/Economics will be advantageous.
- Minimum 5 Years relevant experience in the Forestry / Agriculture / Business and or Economics Management field
